Drew Klausner is a visual artist whose work brings together old photographs and modern digital techniques to explore how we remember, forget, and reinterpret the past. His creative path began with photography in junior high and later expanded into animation, where he spent twenty years making award-winning short films.
Klausner did graduate work in art at U.C. Davis, taught animation at the California College of Arts & Crafts, and worked for fourteen years as a senior digital artist at Industrial Light & Magic, helping create visual effects for major Hollywood movies.
Today, his focus is on reworking historical images—especially from the 1930s—using digital tools to raise questions about memory, truth, and how history continues to shape the present.
